My friends have claimed I should have punched the guy or something along those lines, but getting into a fight on Bourbon St. Immediately past this, a man walked up and very openly and deliberately exposed himself to my wife. There was no way to avoid walking uncomfortably close to what was going on. Walking back the way we came, we ran across a stripper, giving some guy a dance, completely out in the open. Unfortunately, things just got real ugly after that.Īfter a few minutes under the canopy we left. Not exactly my proudest moment, but it was relatively harmless and seemed really funny when it happened. My Wife: (shoots death beams at me with her eyes) Me: pfpftpfppptpfppt(Sound of uncontrolled muffled laughter) Tranny: Baby, I can show you things you've never seen before. Me: *snicker*(putting hands up to mouth, trying to hide laughter) My Wife: (Visibly scared) I don't think we want to see the show. Tranny: Have you ever been to a show like this. My Wife: (extremely nervous)Ummm I don't think so. It turns out our new friend was a performer in the club. We were joined a moment later by a tall, black she-male/trans-gender/cross-dresser type, wearing a skin-tight outfit, who stood next to my wife.
If I haven't been clear on this subject, there are no "friendly" places on Bourbon St. Why in the world would we take cover under under the canopy of a strip club? It was Bourbon St.
This building happened to be a strip club. When we first arrived it started to rain a little, so we took cover under the canopies on one of the buildings. I made the mistake of believing that since it was still early in the evening that we would not see anything too bad. less than 10 minutes, but it was enough to almost reduce my wife to tears. There is pornography posted all over the place and the street performers perform entirely different acts. The other half is various strip clubs and some other more traditional bars. Suddenly all the F-words and sex/nudity that you had forgotten about, or glossed over, stand out a great deal more.įor those of you who haven't experienced Bourbon St., half of it is one continuous gay bar.
NEW ORLEANS GAY BARS STRIPPERS MOVIE
It's kind of like watching a favorite R-rated movie with your grandma. was when I was there on my own or with friends. I never noticed just how dirty and rotten Bourbon St. I enjoy the bar-hopping for the live music in the French Quarter. a number of times before before I took my wife there a few years ago (pre-Katrina). If you are there with the guys you probably shouldn't either, but it would be hypocritical of me to tell you not to go. For those who are in New Orleans this week and are tempted to take your family onj Bourbon St.don't.
